INFECTIONS

I am going to tell you the definitions of the words pathogen, susceptible, host, and disease.

  • Pathogen: a bacterium, virus, or other microorganisms that can cause disease.

  • Susceptible: likely or liable to be influenced or harmed by a particular thing.

  • Host: likely or liable to be influenced or harmed by a particular thing.

  • Disease: a disorder of structure or function in a human, animal, or plant, especially one that produces specific signs or symptoms or that affects a specific location and is not simply a direct result of physical injury.

The difference between a virus and bacteria is that viruses are smaller and they need a living host. There are different types of infections. There is the common cold, the Flu, Strep Throat, Urinary Tract Infection, and Cellulitis. The six parts of the Chain of Infection are Infectious Agent, Reservoir, Portal of Exit, Means of Transmission, Portal of Entry, and Susceptible Agent. A way to prevent the cycle of Zika of continuing is to protect yourself while having sex.
